Does anyone here have any experience using LyX 1.3.2 through an X-server?
I'm using Exceed (tried X-Win32 as well), and as usual, there are problems
with fonts. Even though I have installed the latex-xft-fonts both on my

I have installed the above LyX package, compiled by Claus Hentschel, following the
easy preconfigured installation steps. Still, I can't get the spellchecking to work. I
get the message (in the sh-shell window):

Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience in the windows
port of LyX 1.0.4?
I have some annoying problems. First of all, I
can't get special characters (like those of German and Swedish). This is
probably because of some short-coming in the babel package of MiKTeX. Surely,

Hi all,
I just installed the LyX port for windows and it
works ok, despite that I can't get language specific letters, like thosein
Swedish, even though I specify the language in LyX.
I'm using a standard distribution of
MiKTeX.
Anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks in advance,

Perhaps this is already well known:
In LyX 1.0.3pre4 the preamble window behaves strangely if you enlarge it
and you have so much text in it so the scroll bars are present.
If you enlarge the window horizontally, the scroll bar on the right-hand
side goes really freaky.

Is there anyone who have compiled lyx 1.0.3pre2 into an rpm package?
I use lyx 1.0.2 on a RedHat 5.2 system, but it suffers from the severe
file-update bug, an so is not very fun to use.
If there is a newer rpm, which library files do I need in order to use
it?

I want to use the layout article (is very good in section-Numbering, fonts
etc.) but I need the environments like the ones in AMS (theorem, proof, remark
etc.). Is it possible to combine these two layouts?
I have exactly the same taste in layout as you :)

I tried to install the LyX 1.0.2 rpm package found atftp://moni.msci.memphis.edu/pub/
and it seems seems to require the library file libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
I don't have this file in my RedHat 5.2 system. What should I do about this?

Surely this question must have been discussed before, but since the
mailing list archive seems to be down I take the chance of asking it
again:
How do one obtain nth roots in LyX, e.g. a cubic root sign?
