apa document class Unavailable

2004-10-21 Thread Jack Gill
I'm need to use the American Psychological Associations' style manual, and I've found that the apa document class is shown as being Unavailable in the list of document classes in LyX Version 1.3.4 on Linux. I've downloaded the apa.cls, apacite.sty, apacitex.bst, and apacite.bst files from CTAN.

(not using it...) the directory is c:\localtex or similar. Then you should run something like: StartProgramsMikTeXOptionsUpdate In both cases, do EditReconfigure in LyX. Vasek On Thursday 21 October 2004 12:32, Jack Gill wrote: I'm need to use the American Psychological Associations

LaTex study recommendations?

I'm new to LyX and LaTeX. I searched Amazon.com for books on both subjects, and found none listed for LyX. For LaTeX, however, Amazon.com shows a list of several books available. Do you have a recommendation for a first book on LaTeX? Jack
