Is there an easy way to omit a table from appearing in the list of
tables, but still having it remain in the text?
My university requires the page numbers on every page to be at the top
right, 0.5 inches from the top edge and 1 inch from the right edge.
This places the page numbers in the margin.
I'm using the following to place the numbers in the top right, but
cannot place them in the margin. Any ideas on

I am using Lyx for my thesis (report document class) and need the
section headings unnumbered and aligned flush left. However, section
