I found in the LatexConfig.lyx the hint that some layouts are not included but
have to be downloaded from CTAN.
Ok, I downloaded simplecv from CTAN and got a .ins and a .dtx file.
As the document says I put them into
/usr/local/texlive/tecmf-local/tex/latex/local/simplecv.
It also says I

I installed the latest version of Lyx and MacTex.
I have already searched the list for these kind of issues but could not find an
apporpriate solution.
I am missing only certain layouts, eg.: simplecv, some article and book layout.
The layout files files themselves are available.
