Wow, adding "backend=biber" solved the problem. I had in the previous
case when I had added the option "natbib=true" but forgot to add it here
after your suggestion.
Thanks Jürgen for being so helpful.
Best,

OK, committed to trunk.

Yes, this also works and biber is also run after modifying the bib file.

OK, we know the reason then. Please use the preamble workaround for the time

Mukhtar, could you set up a small test case (including a bib file)?

Thanks. Could you check if the attached also does the trick? This test is
more reliable. Please also check if biber is run after the bib file has been
modified (works here on Unix).

Yes, that does the trick and biber is run.

Thanks. It seems like the bcf file is not mentioned in your LaTeX log file.
The log file is supposed to have a line such as
\openout3 = `Minimalbeispiel.bcf'.
Can you check if such a line is there? If not, the bc

The output looks incomplete. Is this really from a freshly started LyX?

OK, then maybe LyX's parsing goes wrong on Windows.
Can you run LyX with -dbg latex? You can either start LyX from a terminal
(lyx -dbg latex) or open View > View Messages in LyX and select "LaTeX

Does the workaround Thomas mentioned help in your case? I.e., adding
\typeout{File: \jobname.bcf}
to the preamble?

It probably has something to do with the version of biber. The most recent
is 0.9.5. The workaround Thomas mentions points to a "bug" in biber that has
been resolv

Do you think it has anything to do with the version of perl? I have perl 5.12 64
bit on on Windows 7 64bit.

Seemingly, LyX is not running biber. Remember that you also have to specify
biber (see http://wiki.lyx.org/BibTeX/Biblatex#using-biber) as the bibtex
processor when using backend=biber. However, I just verified that even when

Hello,
I am fairly new to LaTeX and LyX, having begun to read about it a few months ago
and trying to use it since about a week for a test chapter for my diploma
thesis. Like any beginner I am encountering loads of problems, so I hope you
will be lenient towards me if I did make some very silly mi
