Re: Problem with preview
Yup, that made it. The preview appeared. Just one thing, the preferences file doesn't appear again in the ~/Library/Application Support/LyX/ folder after I moved it. There's no problem with this? When I select View-PDF (pdflatex), LyX opens the Preview tool but no PDF file has been created. I had to print the document to a PS file in order to preview it, via PS to PDF converter. What happens if you quit LyX, move your ~/Library/Application Support/ LyX/preferences file aside, and restart LyX? (I'm wondering if something else in your settings has gotten corrupted.) It will create a new preferences file in ~/ Library/Application Support/LyX/ only if you modify any settings. Bennett
LyXWinInstaller
I used the complete LyXWinInstaller 1.3.7 under WinXP sp2. After install I get errors with documents containing images. I installed everything, as it should have been installed. At a windows2000 computer, everything worked fine. The message is, that the image can´t be converted because the info about converting png to eps is missing... Thanks for the help Benjamin

This only happens when no text is entered in the individual sections. So I'm not really sure whether this is a bug, is to be expected or I'm just misusing Lyx :) For clarity if added the code of an example lyx file to the end of this mail - in that example chapter 2 is truncated.
