LaTeX behavior (expected), I think -- nothing to do with LyX. If you
want to see the layout in its full glory, insert a standard "paragraph"
with a hard space (C-space) as a place holder wherever text is destined
to go.

Truncation of sections in pdf
Dear list,
right know I'm putting together the structure of my
thesis - beginning from chapter down to the individual
subsubsections.
What I have noticed:
If the amount of sections/subsection in a single
chapter takes more space than a single page, the
chapter gets truncated to one page in all
previews/exports.
This only happens when no text is entered in the
individual sections.
So I'm not really sure whether this is a bug, is to be
expected or I'm just misusing Lyx :)

When you moved it, LyX turns to the default preferences file located within the LyX.app bundle. It will create a new preferences file in ~/ Library/Application Support/LyX/ only if you modify any settings. Bennett

Yup, that made it. The preview appeared. Just one thing, the preferences file doesn't appear again in the ~/Library/Application Support/LyX/ folder after I moved it. There's no problem with this?
