I'm evaluating LyX and a beginner at LaTex. I have a LaTex file that
I imported in LyX and tried to output a pdf from it but I'm getting a

I think you have to make sure that the encoding of the LyX and the imported
file mach.
I had a similar issue with a utf tex file imported in LyX where the encoding
was ISO-8859-7.
