Then I would the following commands to redefine the dots

For example, it has the following command:
and you may add a dot after the counter simply with
\titlelabel{\thetitle.\quad}
My experience is that trying to change the section labels
manually gives headaches.

It seems I got an additional dot in the figures.
I can't use titlesec package simply because I don't know how to compile and add
packages to Lyx.
I have looked to some links about adding packages but for some reasons It was
not working for me.
I don't want to mess-up with my thesis
