I am trying to upgrade from TexLive 2009 to TexLive 2011 on Ubuntu 12.04 to use with LyX 2.0.2. Ubuntu's repositories have only the 2009 package. Working on a ASUS X53U 64 bit machine, dual boot with Windows 7 I managed to get 2011 working on Ubuntu 11.10 following Stefano Franchi's excellent
