Yes, because that fits for the most Windows versions I had access to to
test. You can change it easily:

- either use Ctrl + Mouse wheel for the current LyX session
- or change the value in the LyX preferences in the section
  Look -> Screen Fonts.

(I renamed my personal LyX2.3 folder so that

LyX had to create a fresh one.

This is my comment (AP).

Why?

So that LyX would create a new folder with default settings (in order to
see what the default windows zoom is), as you note below. But my own
preference settings were still available in the renamed folder.

Andrew

If you want to delete all your personal settings, just close LyX, delete
this folder and then restart LyX. LyX will recreate the folder with
default settings.

Hey Scott,

I actually don't have the file now since I overwrote it after fixing the
problem, but I think you could replicate it by putting in a "bad" character
and trying to paste it into lyx and then pdf it? I am not really sure what
constitutes a bad character in lyx versus something that is okay in word.

Bump for Uwe now that he has more time.

Christos, do you have an example file that you can send us?

Thanks,

PS Why the Arabic UI Name has the "(ArabTeX)" in it? What is the

Our GUI language names are taken from the list of document language
names. However for Arabic we have two languages, depending on whether
one uses the arabtex or the arabic option of babel. I would like to name
one of them just "Arabic", to show that this is the default way of doing
Arabic documents, but I do not know which one...
