I hadn't heard of Atom, but it really is pretty amazing. Riki -- lyx-users mailing list lyx-users@lists.lyx.org http://lists.lyx.org/mailman/listinfo/lyx-users

Create the document first, in the normal way (File> New). Then cut and paste the content into it. (Probably make sure you have the same document class, etc, first.) Then include the new document in the old one. Alternatively: Use your OS to copy the original file to Chapter_1.lyx. Then delete everything except chapter 1. Then remove Chapter 1 from the old file and instead include the new file. (That may be easiest, in the end.) Wolfgang I exported the .lyx document to .txt und found the characters in a nomenclature. Replacing it solved the issue. display of $int...$ under QT5
Dear LyX-friends, yesterday I updated from Linux-openSUSE-Leap 15.1 to 15.2 and again I want to say "thank you all" for our wonderful LyX, now in version 2.3.5.2. One year ago I reported here a problem with the display of $int...$ and $oint...$ and all the other integrals, see the attached pic. After a longer discussion here I found, that the cause of this problem was the interaction of LyX with QT5-Qt-5.9.4. Then I compiled LyX with QT4 and this workaround was fine for me. Now with LyX 2.3.5.2 there is the same problem with QT5-5.12.7 and again I took refuge to the QT4 workaround. But there is a problem soon coming: SUSE says QT4 is deprecated and they will not bug-support it this year and cancel it with the next update next year. So I would be happy if someone of the LyX team could take a look on this issue. Thank you very much. bernhard -- Homepage: https://www.mb-schiekel.de/ GnuPG: http://p80.pool.sks-keyservers.net/ posteo.de: SSL-Verschluesselung + Oekostrom -- Homepage: https://www.mb-schiekel.de/ GnuPG: http://p80.pool.sks-keyservers.net/ signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- lyx-users mailing list lyx-users@lists.lyx.org http://lists.lyx.org/mailman/listinfo/lyx-users

how to create a child document
I want to create a child document for chapter 1 of a book (Koma-script) in LyX. In the help file 'Embedded Objects' it is, as far as I can see, not described how to create it. What I do: 1- In the table of content of the outline I go to chapter 1 and mouse-click right. 2- I select section (which is actually a chapter) which blues the chapter (except the title of the chapter) 3- I choose Insert > file > child document 4- A box pops up 'LyX Child Document' and here I am lost: There is a line File: . Browse ... but if I enter in either File or Browse a name for the child, say Chapter_1 I am told that the file could not be found. Could somebody kindly tell me what has to be done in order to get the selected chapter exported as a child?
