Daniel,

Since I made this inadvertent mistake only once since LyX-1.0, and the
trackball will fix any future accidents I don't care about the keyboard
shortcuts. Chasing this down isn't worth the time for me.

Daniel,

Not here. It's the trackball scroll ring when the Ctrl key is depressed.
Ctrl-scrool ring counter- and clockwise shrinks and expands the displayed
font.

Indexing a book

2023-06-23 Thread Rich Shepard

Hi group,

I've read the Indexing chapter in the Users Guide, a couple of StackExchange
threads plus general guides to indexing. One LyX-specific issue I've not
seen addressed is how to add bibliography authors to the index.

The book has citations entered by JabRef. Some authors have entries as
single authors, others as both single and part of multiple authors. Since
my book is technical I would like to add all cited authors to the index.
Pointers on how to do this (perhaps manually at each document citation?)
will be very helpful.

Furgeddaboutit. When LyX shut down when I pressed the wrong keys I reloaded
the old version, not the new one.

Mea culpa!

Selecting an author-year biblatex option

2023-06-23 Thread Rich Shepard

My document bibliography is stuck at bibtex. After installing TL2023 I
changed it to biblatex but now it's reverted back to bibtex. And the
biblatex authordate options for TL3 are not those seen by bibtex.

How can I clean this up so that Settings -> Bibliography allow me to select
biblatex and the citation and bibliography styles use those of TL3 and
biblatex?

TIA,

I wouldn't mind, as an alternative, to do the line numbering in the pdf
file directly (which pdf reader? Okular? I use Debian.).

The reason is, that I would like to send the document to a coauthor for
question, for which I should tell him where to look at.

Write

\usepackage{lineno}
\linenumbers

into the documents preamble.

I didn't search for a switch inside the LyX menues ...
Maybe that there is one.

This will be supported in LyX 2.4:

   https://wiki.lyx.org/LyX.NewInLyX24#lineno
