Lyx 1.2 printing

2002-05-31 Thread Chris Herrnberger

Greetings:

Just finished compiling lyx from source and using cups/Krpint as the print
mechanism. For some reason, C-p (printing) seems to be disabled now matter
what I do. While Im new to Lyx im wondering if this is a bug or am I doing
something incorrect. Any advise to enable printing would be greatly
appreciated.

TIA

On my current system, LyX 1.2 won't produce Latin5 (iso-8859-9)
characters. It's logged as bug 413, IIRC.

Actually 1.1.6 can read 1.2 documents more-or-less - you just get a
bunch of error messages and lose some formatting sometimes (found this
out after I had to downgrade!).

Just for the record, I am also missing the math panel. I'm on RedHat

lyx-1.2 and xforms-0.89-1 from the .src rpms.

Thanks for the help. The rpm you suggested: "xforms-0.89-1.i386.rpm" is
exactly the one I have :-(. Just in case I desinstalled it and I
installed the copy from your web site but the problem remains.

table within a table bug ?

2002-05-31 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi all,

I'm still using lyx-1.1.6fix4 on SuSE 7.3. Maybe I found a bug, though I
should be carefull to name it a bug. It could be my own stupidity :)

Well, I inserted a table within a table, to have a vertical multicolumn,
that works great, but unfortunately I'm not able to change the fontsize
anymore. It doesn't matter wether I use the menu Layout > ... or if try
to change things using ERT. Actually I even cannot enter ERT things in a
table which is in a table .

Will this problem still be there if i'm going to use lyx1.2.0 ?

Thanks

Nico

Nobody will ever ensure this...

Anyway, if you tel us what kind of consrtucts you use (TeX code,
minipages, maths...), we will be able to see what the risk is.
But if your document is not full of tricks, it should work perfectly.

If you really want to be safe, you should better wait for 1.2.1.

Why don't you generate the latex files corresponding to your lyx document
for both versions of lyx and then do a diff on the latex files.
Even though the lyx files may be different the latex files should not be.
You should then be able to track down any difficulties and fix them
in the new document.

Note I only think this will work; I haven't actually tried it.

Also, there could be some minor changes in the preamble
including a comment on the version of lyx being used.

Hope this helps.
