All we need to do is to import to a temp file, open that, then rename it appropriately. I'm no lyx expert but that would have kinda been my thought. Alex.

I see.. I used the AMS multiline to split it up.. btw, is there any documentation on using the AMS environments in LyX with the Insert - Math menu options? I think I know how some of them work but if there's some documentation I'd like to take a look at it.. couldn't find it in the help guides.
