 then rename it appropriately.

There's now also an example of a CV that is based on Jean-Marc's CV 
class at this URI:

Based on my experience from writing a cv using both an article class 
and the CV class, I definitely recommend using the CV-class. 
You may want to add some styles, as I for instance added the 
paragraph style: Comment.

 then when you use prettyref, you have to type \prettyref{eq|Max4} instead

Is there no way to get lyx to put in the | instead of the : directly or to 
figure something out so I don't have to actually type the stuff? That's kinda 
the benefit of using Lyx over direct Tex. You don't have to type as much 
weird code up.
Besides for a document that's already written there's not much I can do but go 
back and change every one of the hundreds of references... right?

I see.. I used the AMS multiline to split it up.. btw, is there any
documentation on using the AMS environments in LyX with the Insert -
Math menu options? I think I know how some of them work but if there's
some documentation I'd like to take a look at it.. couldn't find it in
the help guides.

 complicated for it to know what to do correctly. You have to do it

That's cool.. maybe you can slowly start porting things to the LyX
website if it's ok with the site maintainer? Or maybe there could be a
link to your wiki page in the interim until it's finished.. sample
documents are very helpful in convincing people.. :-)

Take a look at the attached modified lyx file.. the preamble has some
stuff that I got from asking on this list.. 

However, I think the authors side by side is something that is used
quite frequently.. is this worthy of a feature request?

I was actually looking for a bibtex style that's useful for listing 
presentations, when I found a package called inlinebib.sty which is 
supposed to put references as footnotes. Since I have a vague memory of 
people looking for that, I decided to you the URI:

the paragraph is Arabic. The workaround is just to insert a space or any 
whitespace after the last Arabic letter.

Error #2: If we want to generate the PDF file through File - Export - LaTeX, 
then use texi2pdf. In this case I get these errors:

A space at the end of the file won't solve the problem if it contains some 
formatting. For example if the tex file looks like this

\begin{document}
\begin{arabtext}
\begin{center}ÈÓå Çääç\end{center}

ÈÓå Çääç\end{arabtext}

\end{document}

I need to add a space before \end{center} AND \end{document}. In short a space 
before any LaTeX code that follows an Arabic text. You can also see here the 
the line added after \end{arabtext} which should be before it as Juergen 
Spitzmueller noticed already.

Note: to edit the LaTeX file I have to use katoob or vim since the other 
editors I am aware of (like kwrite, kedit, ...) will corrupt any Arabic text 
encoded in iso 8859-6.
