List of figures with child documents

Hi!

the figures inside the child documents. Is there any way to make those figures be included? Thanks!

(Attached file pdf file contains the same table)

LyX can't split a cell, but you can work around this fact by creating an
extra column. Then, merge cells on all lines except the one where

you want the split.

This gives you a horizontal split, although with some work. You may
want to file a wishlist item on bugzilla.lyx.org about this - the LyX

GUI could certainly automate such an operation.

There is no vertical splitting, but it is still possible to make
a table that look like yours. Simply make the dividing line
invisible in some places, and it should look like your pdf.

Actually putting something into those cells will reveal the
fact that they aren't really merged horizontally.

I attached a LyX file that looks like your example.
It works with Lyx version 1.5

I had to use the upcoming LyX-1.6 to make it, as getting the lines right
in LyX 1.5 is hard. This is much easier in LyX 1.6. Still, the file
uses no 1.6 specific stuff, so it converted nicely to 1.5 format.

Problem installing package in Lyx (newbie)

2008-09-05 Thread bar tomas
Hi,

I'm using Lyx 1.5.5 windows version.
I'd like to use apalike style for bibliographic references.
So I downloaded apalike.sty and dropped it into the Resources/Tex
subdirectory of the Lyx application directory.
Then I saved apalike.bst in the Resources/doc/biblio subdirectory.
In my lyx document I added
\usepackage{apalike}
to the preamble. But I get the following error:
LaTeX Error: File `apalike.sty' not found.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you very much.

In Tools - Preferences... - File Handling - Converters, there should
be a converter from DVI to PDF (dvipdfm) with the converter line

Change the Floatname only for some Floats

2008-09-05 Thread Johannes Knaus

Hello,

I'm editing a document which has a bunch of table floats in it.
For some tables the floatname Table x.x is appropriate and should
remain like this.
But for some tablefloats I want to change the word Table in the
floatname into Tableau

(Right now, Linguists know what kind of document I'm working on ;-)

Is this possible?

Koma-script chapterentry font option

2008-09-05 Thread Guillaume Larocque
Hi, I am trying to modify the font used in the table of contents of my
thesis (Koma-script(Book)) for chapter titles to a Roman font. The
default is an ugly fixed font that renders terribly in pdf and in some
printers. All the rest of my thesis is in a Roman font. After reading
the Koma-script documentation, I tried adding the following to the
preamble.

\addtokomafont{chapterentry}{\rmfamily}

I also tried

\usekomafont{chapterentry}
\setkomafont{chapterentry}{\rmfamily}

I always get this error message You've told me to use the font
selection of the element, but either no such element is known by
KOMA-Script or the element does not use a special font selection.

Is there any way I can change that font??

Thanks,

Guillaume

Not a linguist. Therefore not a clue. Wish I'd read this yesterday --
I met a couple (my first two linguists!) at a reception. Doesn't
matter; to each his own. :-)

Is this possible?

If you want Tables and Tableaus (Tableaux? my spellchecker seems to
prefer the latter -- but then it doesn't believe spellchecker is a word)
to share a common number sequence (e.g., Table 1 followed by Tableau 2
followed by Table 3), it's easy. Put \usepackage{caption} in the
preamble. Put \captionsetup{name=Tableau} in ERT inside those table
floats that you want to be tableaux.

Change the Floatname only for some Floats

2008-09-05 Thread Johannes Knaus

Hello,

I'm editing a document which has a bunch of table floats in it.
For some tables the floatname Table x.x is appropriate and should
remain like this.
But for some tablefloats I want to change the word Table in the
floatname into Tableau

(Right now, Linguists know what kind of document I'm working on ;-)

Is this possible?

Koma-script chapterentry font option

2008-09-05 Thread Guillaume Larocque
Hi, I am trying to modify the font used in the table of contents of my
thesis (Koma-script(Book)) for chapter titles to a Roman font. The
default is an ugly fixed font that renders terribly in pdf and in some
printers. All the rest of my thesis is in a Roman font. After reading
the Koma-script documentation, I tried adding the following to the
preamble.

\addtokomafont{chapterentry}{\rmfamily}

I also tried

\usekomafont{chapterentry}
\setkomafont{chapterentry}{\rmfamily}

I always get this error message You've told me to use the font
selection of the element, but either no such element is known by
KOMA-Script or the element does not use a special font selection.

Is there any way I can change that font??

Thanks,

Guillaume

If you want Tables and Tableaus (Tableaux? my spellchecker seems to
prefer the latter -- but then it doesn't believe spellchecker is a word)
to share a common number sequence (e.g., Table 1 followed by Tableau 2
followed by Table 3), it's easy. Put \usepackage{caption} in the
preamble. Put \captionsetup{name=Tableau} in ERT inside those table
floats that you want to be tableaux.

Re: splitting a cell in Lyx

2008-09-05 Thread Helge Hafting

Tariq Abdullah wrote:

Hi,
I want to split a cell in Lyx as shown below. How can I do that?
(Attached file pdf file contains the same table)

LyX can't split a cell, but you can work around this fact by creating an
extra column. Then, merge cells on all lines except the one where

you want the split.

This gives you a horizontal "split", although with some work. You may
want to file a wishlist item on bugzilla.lyx.org about this - the LyX
