Actually, I'll report this. I see the problem.

I can confirm the bug. The problem is that, for some reason, certain
macros the child needs are not being written to the preamble for the
master, when those constructs are only present in the child. What's
weirder is that they DO appear in View>Source for the master, when you
check "Complete source". I'll try to fix this soon. A workaround would
be (a) to export the child as LaTeX, (b) open it in a text editor, (c)
find the declarations of the \textgreek and \lyxmathsym stuff in there,
and (d) manually copy that stuff to the preamble of the master. Ugly, I
know, but it should help.

Richard

Hi Sven,

I am amazed that is was such a long time. Thank you very much for your
effort, it surely has helped a lot of people. For me it was a pleasure to
work together with you. I hope that we soon get a new maintaner who keeps up
the good work.

I use LyTeX for my LyX and it seems to be just fine, although it's version
1.6.5
and i haven't

wanted to chance an upgrade to 2.0 for fear of compatibility problems..or
completely knocking
out my LyX.

So I might be willing to try this idea to make a new folder and renaming the
old
one. That won't

break anything and I could always go back if it doesn't work as I expect... or
even .. I could just
copy and make two flash drives; one with 1.6.5 and one with 2.0.

Could you be specific on how you make a new lyx folder?.. I mean what do you
download and install
to make just the folder and not install the full system with miktex, etc.

Thanks,
Phil

Child document and "Undefined control sequence"

2011-07-15 Thread Giacomo Z
Dear all,

I am having a problem with a child document - I attached the minimal working
files to be copied in the same directory. The "master" file contains the
child document "Child" (as include). When I try to compile the PDF I get
several "Undefined control sequence" error. If I open only the child
document "Child", I can compile the PDF with no problem. I tried some
solutions I found on the list but with no success so far.

Some more information:
- AMS maths package seems to be active in both files
- Preamble is empty for both files

Any idea on how can I solve the problem?

Thanks a lot for your help.
Giacomo

 Hi,

I am using Lyx-2.0 with KOMA-book class (pdflatex) on Mac OSX 10.6.8.

I am often using the cross-reference option 'Formatted reference' as it is

Nevertheless I noticed (by accident) that in the Lyx window references
appear to be fine but show up in the final pdf as '??'. This is the case
 for references within a 'subsection'.

This is a little bit annoying as it can be overseen in a larger document
 easily.

Is this a bug? Has anyone else this problem?
 Any comments?

Indeed I am using subfloats.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Added this, but no change.
What I recognized is that formatted references (I use refstyle) are fine within
a one file document, i.e. added 'section'. But when I have child documents
included they appear as '??'
