Re: installation of a .def file for use in exporting polytonic greek text
John, What operating system are you using? If it is ubuntu linux, installing texlive- latex-extra and/or texlive-lang-greek through apt should do it (e.g. sudo apt-get install texlive-latex-extra). If it's Windows and MiKTeX, you might have to do it by hand. If you give more detailed information and perhaps a minimal example, it would be easier to give a better response. By the way, I just tried what you described on my Windows XP computer with LyX 2.0.2 and MiKTeX 2.9. The .pdf compiles just fine. I think MiKTeX is grabbing the package for me automatically. Jacob

installation of a .def file for use in exporting polytonic greek text
I'm a complete beginner with LyX, so apologies in advance if this is something that ought to be obvious. Having set the language of a paragraph to Polytonic Greek (in an otherwise English document), when I copy&paste and/or type input, then try to export as a .pdf, I get the following error message: LaTeX Error: 'File iso-8859-7.def not found'. Can anyone tell me how to find (I think I may have) and install (no idea!) this file (or whether this is a symptom of a deeper problem)? Thanks! John
2.0.4: GUI handling of EPS bounding boxes
Hello, In June I have been writing about problems in 2.0.3 with negative bounding box values (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.general/75783). In 2.0.4, this problem seems to be fixed at first glance, negative values are read from the file. But a new problem has arisen: As mentioned on the tracker (http://www.lyx.org/trac/changeset/036e0c2a/lyxgit), the GUI does not handle the bounding box correctly. In my tries (Windows 7), I get two cases: a) Bounding box is ignored in GUI. For finding good bounding box values I have to guess and hope. This could be seen as a missing feature, but the feature was there in 2.0.3, so it is disappointing. b) If I select anything else than the values read from the file and activate "crop to bounding box", the figure completely disappears from the GUI (not from the created document). This is even worse and definitely a bug, not a missing feature. I have not found out yet what determines whether I get case a) or b). For the time being, I will step back to 2.0.3 and use manual adjustment of bounding boxes as described in the link above. It would be nice if the GUI in the next version correctly handles bounding boxes. Regards Matthias

How can I define these formats so that they are automatically used, or do I have to do this manually? In the todosalternate module, you can define the XHTML output of the insets via the HTMLStyle tag. I.e., add something such as the following to the respective style definitions: HTMLStyle div.flex_todo_inline_ { border: 2px solid black; padding: 1ex; margin: 1ex; background-color: #F0F0F0; font-weight: bold; font-family: serif; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; } EndHTMLStyle (not tested) And works like a charm May I suggest to add this to the todosalternate module layout? Where is that? Sorry: http://wiki.lyx.org/Layouts/Modules#toc2 and the actual layout file http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/Modules/todonotesalternate.module In that case, you can update it, though I guess we have to figure out the upload problem Richard

pdf cropping
I have a pdf file that has /MediaBox [0 0 630 376] when I ask LyX to get the bounding box from the file it returns [0 0 611 376] which means the right edge of the image is cut off in both the LyX preview and the pdf output, unless I change the 611 to 630. I searched the pdf file in a text editor and cannot find 611 anywhere. Anyone know where LyX gets the bounding box values from? Thanks Steve

I attach the reworked example, which uses \breakurl and \sloppy \fussy to "force" linebreaks, which works as expected for the \url. But with \href it doesn't work. I can put the url in the description of \href and manually include a space where it should break, but this not as flexible as I would like it to be.
