Sounds like black humor to me. Pavel
Re: latin modern math, palatino text
PMFJI, but I was interested in Günter's suggestion, testing the newpxmath package; it looks nice, many customization options. But it doesn't seem to be part of my setup (LyX 2.0.6, Linux Mint Debian, TeXlive 2013). When I try to add it, I get the LaTeX error: "file `newpxmathsty` not found". So I searched the Debian archive and noticed it was part of the texlive-fonts-extra package, but only the one from TeXlive 2013. Now this is a very large package (140+ Mb), and it appears to depends on other TL2013 packages. Hence my question: isn't there a 'lighter" way to test newpxmath, without fully moving to TL2013? So you put down good money for a computer, which then decides you can't run any software your want? Even if the software developer doesn't want to be paid? That can't be true, can it? John

Re: help using the aspect ratio package in lyx
You preceded "usepackage" with a backslash, right? Did you install the package with the MiKTeX package manager, or manually? If manually, did you update the file database? Paul

I'd suggest Googling "can't be opened because it's from an unidentified developer." On Jun 26, 2013 12:36 PM, "Eric Weir" wrote: > > New computer. Now on OS X Mountain Lion. Re: gui problem
Thank you Steve. Good suggestions. I reloaded libgnome 2.30.0 from the VL repository and that fixed the problem both with lyx and etm. Problem is now solved. If it happens again I will see if I can see some kind of pattern. However, in any event, it is not a problem with lyx. Thanks I'm not sure what you mean by "started from GUI", but if you mean from the menu system, find out exactly what command the menu system starts, then put that command on xterm or another GUI command prompt, and watch the error messages on xterm while you're trying to save from LyX. Also, you'll need to define "won't save files". U mean it throws an error message (what?), or it acts like it saves the file but the file isn't saved, or the save alternative is grayed out -- what do you mean? I don't have 2.06 so I can't reproduce your problem. Thanks, SteveT Steve Litt* http://www.troubleshooters.com/ Troubleshooting Training * Human Performance
LyX.app can't be opened

Hello, I use Win7 with Miktex and wish to use the aspect ratio package in LyX but I don't manage do make it work. I used the usepackage{ar} command but it didn't work. I managed to download an archive from here http://mirrors.ctan.org/systems/win32/miktex/tm/packages/aspectratio.tar.lzma and I managed to run the ar.tex and compile it to document. but I did not managed to compile simple LyX document with the \AR command.
