Ok, that's probably not possible. I just tried to create such an account -
spaces are not accepted here - fortunately.
Now I've had a look into the source. If this error is shown depends on the
LyX preference variable named tex_allows_spaces and the correct value for
it is determined when LyX's configure.py script checks the latex compiler.
With MacTeX this shouldn't happen.
Please try to Reconfigure LyX and try again.
Reconfigure resides in the Tools menu.

I have version:
LyX Version 2.1.2.2
(November 1, 2014)
Library directory: /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/
User directory: ~/Library/Application Support/LyX-2.1/
When I open my file and then press the button to make a pdf it gives me
the error message and I press ok to go back to my file. Then I go to
documents and the "latex log" is grey. I'm not able to choose it. Is there
another way I can send you it to you? Again, thank you for your patience.

I'm not sure how to run it from the terminal. What is the common line?
(run lyx?) Please excuse my ignorance.
I'm not sure how to incorporate the patch into the program. Do I
copy/paste it somewhere in the terminal? I have downloaded v 2.1.2.2
on yosemite. Also how do I use the checksum signature?
Again, forgive me, I was taught how to use this GUI but not the latex
behind it. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Hope to hear
from you soon.
