Have you looked in

/usr/share/lyx/examples/de ?

This would be the right place in a standard installation on a Linux system.

Gilles,

I know less than nothing about windoze since I stopped using it in 1997.
But, I can report that lyx/beamer documents on linux, lyx/knitr documents,
and PSTricks graphics all compile using pdflatex when they will not preview
using dvips.

This makes sense when we think about it: if the documents are intended to
result in PDF files, then the driver should be pdxlinux. But, the preview
using ctrl-p is in PostScript, not PDF format and other than regular
text/graphics documents in LyX might not properly display.

Avoid the preview and look only at the pdxlatex-compiled output.

Hi Giles,

I did not try your example because it is far from a minimal example
(see http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MinimalExample). However, I see that you
use ERT. In this case, you must give the full path to the files,
because LyX does not know about them and thus won't copy them to the
temporary directory.

Does using the full path to all files work? If not, can you please
create a minimal example as I reference above?

Best,

Scott

The Examples folder is hidden from OS X users. It is inside the application
bundle. From your app root, your file is here:
/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/examples/de/beispiel_roh.lyx
You have to first Control-click on the application icon and then select Show
Package Contents, then follow the above path with more clicking.

At one point, either the examples or templates folders—I can't remember which—
did not have the correct paths set to it. You can check this out in the
preferences. Open Preferences, click on Paths, and see what is in the fields
for Document templates and Example files. They should be
/path/to/LyX/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/templates/
/path/to/LyX//LyX.app/Contents/Resources/examples/
So you will by now have noticed that the templates are similarly placed inside
the app bundle.
