I'm afraid you have to live with that. I have also found that Inkscape does
a much better conversion job than rsvg-convert and would therefore
recommend using Inkscape. Fortunately, Lyx is smart enough to only do the
conversion when the SVG has changed or the document is compiled the first
time after start up.

Right, thats what I have setup now. However, i have found Inkscape
conversion is slow compared to rsvg-convert.

Yes, rsvg is much faster. It will automatically be used in LyX 2.1.4 on
Windows for that reason.

However, your SVG file is buggy:

To repair it, you should replace the right text inset in the SVG in
Inkscape and then save as.

Has anyone tried LyX on rollApp?

2015-12-06 Thread Scott Kostyshak
LyX can be used through a webbrowser on the cloud at rollApp. There are
many reasons not to do this, but I'm curious if anyone has actually used
this for any serious work?

I just tried it out for a test run. It is easy:

1. go to https://www.rollapp.com/app/lyx
2. click "Launch Online"
3. choose "Test Drive"
