I think it would be better to put it in /usr/local/bin. I downloaded the latest biber-linux_x86_64.tar.gz from SourceForge and extracted it in my /home/Downloads/ Can it remain there or where should it better be? Is a texhash sufficient to make it available to lyx? Wolfgang
