Re: lyx to latex

2017-03-22 Thread Patrick Dupre
Thank, But it does not solve my problem:

I made the correction in the source file and installed it.
In my opinon, there is an issue with lay because.
IN my preference It set:
File Handling -> Converter:
Lyx -> rtf
latex2rtf -p -S $$i

but when I export (file -> reach Text format,
For one file, I obtain a compilation with pdflatex, and the display of the pdf
file
or
with another file:

(Not set):1 Error! rtf file must be different from tex file
Systemcall.cpp (291): Systemcall: 'latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf"
"Organisation.tex"' finished with exit code 1
Error: Cannot convert file

An error occurred while running:
latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf" "Organisation.tex"

2 questions,
Why 2 different things are run?
why with
latex2rtf -p -S $$i
I get
latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf" "Organisation.tex"

instead of:
latex2rtf -p -S Organisation.tex

This would not really solve the issue because it could only work if
a .tex file exists
The converter should do possibly: generate the .tex file and then run
the conversion.

Why I do not have control on this
with the preferences ?

Thank for your help.

QUESTION & A REQUEST

2017-03-22 Thread Bozdogan, Hamparsum (Ham)
I have installed LyX on my new PC laptop Win 10 system. This is the new version
222.
When I use the equation editor and the superscript for minus (-) sign it gives
me left-upward arrow.
Do you know why this is caused?

I will appreciate an answer.

Best.

Thanks for this - it made conversion work for me.

Re: LyX layout color customization

Based on the documentation (Customizing Lyx: Features for the
Advanced User), only a handful of pre-defined colors are available
for use in layout files. The color of some elements are flexibly
changeable (full RGB), but in style declarations only the named
colors are available. Is there any way to work around that? If
nothing else, could I somehow re-define the named colours?

I'm not sure what the answer to this is. Let me have a look and get
back to you.

I've had a look at the code, and no, there's no way to define custom
colors. You can't even use the so-called "LyX colors", which can be
customized through Tools> Preferences> Colors and are listed in appendix
B of the Customization manual. At least, you can't use them for font
colors (though I think you can use them for inset backgrounds(.

It would not be that difficult to allow using color with explicit hex
codes. And also we should allow to use LyX color code to define other
colors. And support alpha channels. If someone want to start LyX
hacking, it can be an interesting project.

I used Lyx 2.1.4 (with MikTex 2.9 ) under Win10 to edit my lectures.
Without problems until now. Just a few days ago I had undertaken an
unlucky attempt to use a newer version. Before the new installation
I have uninstalled the older one, but kept the installing "exe"-s.
The new versions did not work at all satisfactory and I decided to
return to my old version.

Easy done, but now I encounter something unexpected:
While importing "jpg" figures, they are shown within Lyx, but the
"pdf" or "eps" figures not ("error by converting in usable format").
Nevertheless, by "Document-show-pdf" they are shown correctly.
Analogously, export as "pdflatex" or "latex(pdf)" is OK, containing
all the figures.

This is no tragedy, bu a little bit nerving.

I have looked in the configuration at data formats and converter and
at missing packets, but did not remarked anything wrong.

Thanks for tipps!

L. Bányai

Have you tried "reload" (klick with right mouse button on your picture
in lyx)
or perhaps saving your lyx file with another name and trying again would
help?

I think what we need are semantic colors for layout purposes (such as
"LabelText" instead of "blue" etc.). Then people can adjust these globally
to their needs.
