how then do you get 2.3.1?
I'm waiting for Liv to create a .deb package and post it to the PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~lyx-devel/+archive/ubuntu/release
). Mint
uses the Ubuntu releases. So I do not have it yet.

Paul

this is apparently the one I need: qtbase5-dev
Good. Synaptic can install that for you (and will, with your approval,
install any required dependencies).

Thanks, Paul, will wait for Liv's package. Will this be announced in
this list?

Does anyone else use \middle | when writing math?

2018-09-30 Thread Scott Kostyshak
Do you use the LaTeX "\middle" command? If not, how do you write
expressions in LyX like the attached one? Do you just use \mid? \mid
achieves the same semantics but just looks a little worse to me
aesthetically, because it is shorter.

If curious about the "\middle" command, see:
https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/45717/12212

I'm guessing that there is a better way to do what I want, since LyX
does not have "support" for "\middle" (i.e., the LaTeX is displayed).
