Index "see..." Cross-reference Broken in User Guide

2019-12-10 Thread Joel Kulesza
Colleagues,

Has anyone else observed that the "See..." cross-references in the User
Guide index fail to render?

For example, using LyX 2.3.3 the "GIF|see{Image Formats}" in Section 4.4.1
of the User Guide does not make an entry for GIF or anything indicating
that something else should be seen.

I can also find no way to manually force the correct behavior. Perhaps
something in the underlying LaTeX functionality has changed? In addition
to fixing this, any ideas for a workaround are appreciated.

If this is confirmed with a bug, I will enter it into the tracker.

Thank you,
Joel

I set individual column widths so the total would fit within the text width
of each page. On the Table Settings tab I cannot enter a width for the
entire table, but have checked to rotate the table by the default 90 degrees
(that's also not selectable).

The top row is the column headings, one for each column. They stay that way
when I select that row as First Header on the multipage tab. But, when I
select that row to also be the Header (for the first page of the table) the
columns are combined so the header is a single stream of the individual
column headers with no spaces between them.

Help getting this table correct is needed.

Rich

The rotation setting under the Tabular Settings should not be selected.

AFAIK, if you set the width of the column, it will do wrap as you write.
You can use CTRL+Enter for new line.

Second question:

When I compile the document this long table appears is landscape orientation
rather than in portrait orientation with the text vertical on the page. I
don't find where this is controlled and would like to have the table
presented in portrait orientation with the description column taking
multiple lines as necessary.

A clue stick is needed.

Wrap contents in all cells in a column

2019-12-10 Thread Rich Shepard

I've a table with 5 columns and 84 rows (multipgag/long table). The second
column holds site descriptions which can be wordy so the table extends well
past the right margin of the paper when compiled.

The Tables chapter of the embedded objects document, subsection
2.8.1, says setting the column width allows the text to wrap when
ctrl-shift-Enter is pressed.

Do I need to do this for each row in the table or is there a way to have all
rows in that column wrap long text?

Regards,

Rich
