I had not installed that package from SBo; it's building now. I kept looking in /etc/, ~/.config, and other places but found nothing relevant. If you want larger toolbar icons in LyX, that's handled from within LyX. Right click in any empty space on any toolbar and, at the bottom of the context menu, pick your preferred icon size. The pictures I can easily see and recognize; it's the words that need enlarging to accomodate the many miles logged by my eyeballs. Jos?, While I've used the 'classic.ui' for years it is apparently now broken. I removed that file from ~/.lyx/ui/ and that made all the difference. Version 2.3.6.1 is now running. FWIW, I use only Python3; Python2 remains on the system because it's part of the core -14.2 distribution, but no application I regularly use requires it. Bt you can insert it manually by using TeX mode: \frontispiece{My Frontispiece} Do this in a standard paragraph at the very beginning of your document (before the title).
