I am trying to visualise it.  Will report back once I have it.  For now,

It works and it's ok like that.

Maybe I ask for too much! Ideally, in a Tufte Book document with many full 
page-width
figures, it'll be nice to avoid the "Right click > Settings > Span
columns", or even the Copy-Paste action. Just a (custom) figure* float?

The "figure" becomes "figure*" by selecting the "Span columns" option in
the LyX: float dialog (Right click on "float: Figure" > Settings > Span
columns).

A "custom" float may be defined to instruct the \begin{figure*} command
directly as per the following:

In the "Customization" document, in "5.3.8 Floats" it is stated:

Type [string=””] The “type” of the new class of floats, like program or
algorithm. After the appropriate \newfloat, commands such as \begin{program} or
\end{algorithm*} will be available.  So, the above looks like a "duplication" 
(?).


So, after using the custom "figure*" float (which does work!), it is still 
possible to select "Span columns" (which is NOT pre-selected). Another star is 
added and the float becomes "figure**".


On the Span columns, the "Embedded Objects" manual states:

The option Span columns is only useful for two-column documents: If you select
it, the float will span both columns on the page instead of being confined to
just one.


How can we put all this info together and have a clean "Figure*" float for 
tufte-book?  Perhaps reword the "is only useful for two-column documents" 
sentence as well (?).

I am facing a new problem using LyX 2.1.3 which I haven't seen before.
I am re-compiling existing documents (my CV for example) in which I use
quite frequently the Greyedout note inset.

After each 

\begin{lyxgreyedout}
..
\end{lyxgreyedout}

an unwanted newline is added.  Anyone has seen this behaviour?  Is there
any recent change, related to the greyedout environment, that might have
introduced this?

Did you try the above in the Preamble, i.e.

BulletedItem in europecv.layout wrong?

I noticed that the  BulletedItem  in  europecv  is printed in the left 
margin/column (you-name-it -- MWE bellow).  I think the correct position to 
print bulleted items is within the main body (right, wider column) under and 
within an Item.  Isn't it?

In the europecv.layout [*] it is defined like:

I an pure .tex example file I have found on the net [1], in which bulleted

Passing [table] to xcolor along with Show changes in output

Hi list.

I can't get around an xcolor-related option clash.  The Show changes in 
output option loads the xcolor package.  I do want to use \rowcolors in 
some (or all) tables and therefore need to pass the [table] option for the 
package in question.  Whatever of the following I have tried, results in some 
error:

In the Preamble:

- \usepackage{xcolor}  results in Undefined control sequence
- \usepackage[table]{xcolor}  results in option clash
- \PassOptionsToPackage{table}{xcolor}  results in Undefined control 
sequence


In the Document Class  Class options  Custom:

- entering  table or xcolor=table  results, again, in Undefined control 
sequence

Any ideas?  I've also searched through tex.stackexchange where various 
solutions apply to relevant but not the same situation while loading xcolor 
[1][2][3]. And, of course, I added a comment-question [4].

I have no luck sofar doing anykind of combination. Is it _really_  
possible to mix greek, english, babel, utf8 encoding, hyperref with

Well, it seems I haven't figured it out exactly. Any additional text  
in Greek raises a failure to compile properly. I am (more) puzzled.  
I'll try more combinations (since it's the only thing I can do for the  
moment) and will eventually report a success to the list.

characters! For example, the code

Per'ilhyh.


In addition, using greek instead of english is not desired because  
it is a document in English which (additionally) contains one chapter  
(i.e. the Summary) in greek.



More details: the code given in [1] works perfectly as pure LaTeX  
code. For example I use the following preamble:

Unbroken long URL's within endnotes

back on February I've used to have, within a scrbook document, many long 
URL's (using the URL inset) inside endnotes (using the \theendnotes in the 
end of the document). For example:

your suggestion yet.

I use manual ERT for cell rotations (always). The only (important I guess)

I've heard of this way to treat problems before. In fact, I wanted to try it 
out. But I have no time... :-/ Maybe I'll give it a go the last day. (That and 
the chapterthumb-thing related to KOMA. Still not able to make it work within 
LyX.)

I 've checked my .bib file with latex and bibtex. No errors reported any more 
-- and I don't know why I really relate this to the .bib entries. I think, 
among the 1 or 2 references I've found about the \@@BOOKMARK problem, some 
were mentioning the .bib. Not sure though...
