I was also having the same problem while trying to view pdf or Xetex with Miktex. I re-install the Miktex 2.8, the old one, and resolved the problem. You may try the older version of Mactex. Dear Lyx Users, I am a new LYX users. When I install LyX in my office computer, it comes in local language (all menu bars and its options) which I can't understand. Could you please help me to change the language in English? Thanks, Shyam Sweden
