Just discovered that reconfiguration LyX suddenly didn't work because of
permission denied.
Reconfigured as admin, tried to output the PDF and got this.

File does not exist: C:\lyx_tmpdir.gq4904\lyx_tmpbuf2/newfile.pdf

File does not exist: C:/lyx_tmpdir.gq4904/lyx_tmpbuf2/newfile1.pdf

This folder contains two files:

newfile1.tex.dep-pdf
and
newfile1.tex

Is this useful for helping me further?

 Thank you very much!

I guess I am experiencing some of this problems because I work on a network
station. Even though I have administrator rights,
I just can not get this to work.

If the LyX installer just could have downloaded MikTex like it did before I
think it would have worked, since 1.6 worked flawlessly on the same (school)
network.

2011-09-13 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
Yes, I have tried to reconfigure, install miktex directly under C:, tried
installing the bundle packages but none of them works.

The bundle package allows me to press the output button, but it says that I
have space characters in path and is therefore not able to generate pdf.

I have to start writing my thesis yesterday so this is really frustrating.

Unable to install MikTex with Lyx 2.0

2011-09-13 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
Hi!

I am using Windows 7, and wanted to download and install Lyx 2.0.
The problem is that MikTex won't automatically install with the Lyx
installer, because of a 404 error.

I then downloaded and installed MikTex manually, but I do not know how to
tell Lyx how to use it.

Any suggestions on the matter?

Importing excel/gnumeric to LyX

2011-09-10 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
Hi!

When trying to import and .xls or .gnumeric to LyX 2.0 I get the error
message:

"no information for converting gnumeric format files to latex.
Define a converter in the preferences".

I understand what it asks of me, but I can't seem to figure out how to
define the converter.
I have installed gnumeric on my computer.

Really hoping that someone is able to helt me with this!

Thank you very much in advance.

Unwanted pagebreaks

2011-04-30 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
My sollution was to add a \clearpage before the floats that gave me a
problem.

RE: Page numbering

2011-04-30 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
Heisann Marit!

The only way I can think of is, unfortunately, through code, or ERT (Evil
Red Text).

In your document, press CTRL+L, and a red box will appear. After your front
page you could tyoe in the red box : \pagestyle{fancy}
This will change the rest of your document class. I am writing my bachelor
thesis at this moment, and have been working a lot with making
my lyx document look exactly as I want, a lot of settings and some ERT is
unfortunately mandatory.

Document -> settings -> page layout -> fancy and two-sided is the best way
to start I think.

Hi all!

My PDF got some weird page breaks on pages with images in the end (mostly),
and I think it might be that I set my floats to "here definitately". Is
there any way to force no page break?

Lyx open buffered copy

2011-01-18 Thread Christian Wilhelmsen
I juse LyX and Dropbox in collaboration with my team mates, and the problem
is that when you have opened a file, another user edits it and sync it
through
dropbox, LyX wont open the new version, it opens a buffered copy or
something.

We have to close LyX each time we want to open an updated document, or else
you just get the copy that is stored in memory... Tried removing
auto-backup, if that was the problem, but no.

Anyone knows how we can get past this problem?
