in the main text. The footnote,
however, still has a number '1' as symbol. I use the Mac version of Lyx
and have tried it with 1.4.4 as well as 1.5 beta 3. What am I missing here?

Hi Bennett, since your file worked fine on my system, too, I tried to
track down the culprit and it seems that it's the document setting on
font ae. When I switched to palatino, it was ok. Are there no
italics in ae? I used this font because it was recommended on the LyX
on Mac Wiki page.

track down the culprit and it seems that it's the document setting on
font ae. When I switched to palatino, it was ok. Are there no
italics in ae? I used this font because it was recommended on the LyX
on Mac Wiki page.

worked, unfortunately, it also changed all the other words of the rest
of the title ...
I use LyX 1.4.4 on Mac with article(koma) and the Title environment.
