no export..save as..close-version control
Dear All lately I am having an issue with lyx 2.1.3 on Ubuntu 15.04 Much of the pull down elements are shaded and can thus not be chosen. Under the FILE tab I have only a few unshaded like open import but not save, print, export and a few others. I have found nothing on the web. After deleting the ~/.lyx file everything looks fine, only to quickly revert back to its old state. BTW, the keyboard shortcuts work. Any idea what might be wrong? cheers Eildert

Instability of Lyx-1.2.0
Hello everyone, as an ardent usr of LyX I was very happy to use all those new features when LyX-1.2.0 came out. Now we are in the process of advertizing its use on a larger scale at our institution. Only problem is: LyX is very unstable and slow so that we will scare people away more than convince them to use LyX. This instability pertains to mostly to table as does the really slow speed. When cutting and pasting for instance lyx bombs out kind of regularly. We have a RedHat 7.3 system with xforms-0.89-3 Also, there do not seem to be rpms of a higher patchlevel around. We have lyx-1.2.0-1 installed. The corresponding field in the pull down is shaded, on startup of lyx I get eg(eno,eg): lyx MenuItem(): LyX command `marginpar-insert' does not exist. MenuItem(): LyX command `buffer-float-insert figure' does not exist. MenuItem(): LyX command `buffer-float-insert table' does not exist. There are a number of letter styles available but it is unclear to me how to modify them such that a template can be generated for general use. Hello everyone, after having put in the 1.1.4fix1 patch I observe a rather nasty behaviour: Lyx goes down takes X11 with it an logges out. The reason seems to be connected with a eps figure that does not exist.
