It would be interesting for the Lyx website to collect this info.

I assume the posting contains a typo, and should read:
They can record OS statistics, **unless** they are hidden by the user.

(When top posting starts, let top posting continue (8-).

Thanks very much. Is there some way to get a ragged right other than
using \raggedright, so that it would be possible to have a ragged right
and indented paragraphs?

Indented Paragraphs vs. \raggedright

2007-11-02 Thread Jonathan Ryshpan
When I put \raggedright in the preamble, and set
Document-Settings-Text Layout-Separate Paragraphs
to Indentation,
paragraphs are not indented. Using Vertical Space instead of
Indentation works OK.

Why is this? How can I get paragraphs to indent, using LyX, when
ragged right is desired?

Thanks - jon

Right-click any toolbar, but make sure you
don't hit any of the buttons. Then you'll get a choice
of icon sizes. There is no text on the toolbars so no
 font to modify, I think.

LyX uses the qt library, most other sizes (menu fonts,
dialog box fonts etc.) can be changed by
running qtconfig. This changes stuff for all qt apps.

Thanks. qtconfig-qt4 did the job. Also nice to know about control of
the icon sizes.

Screen Fonts are Missing

2007-07-13 Thread Jonathan Ryshpan
I have recently installed Lyx from the Fedora 7 repository, to be exact
it is lyx-1.5.0-0.9.rc2.fc7. All of the screen fonts seem to be
missing, since everything on the screen appears in the 12-point Fixed
font, and running Lyx with debug produces the following errors:

$ lyx -dbg 512
Setting debug level to 512
Debugging `font' (Font handling)
Font 'Roman, Medium, Upright, Normal, none, Emphasis Off, Underline

Can anyone tell me what screen fonts Lyx requires and how to get them?
The *best* answer would be the names of Fedora 7 font packages.
