The best way to start debugging this is to look at the LaTeX log
(Document>LaTeX Log) and see what errors, if any, LaTeX is reporting. Do
you have any unusual characters in these Xrefs? Perhaps there is some
issue about the encoding. It's hard to know in the abstract.

Richard

I have no problems pdf-ing the documents and gets no error messages,
just some ?? for some of the Xrefs.
I have looked at the Latex-log now and that doesn't tell me anything
(there is a reason why I use Lyx and not TeXnicCetnter e.g.),
beacuse I really don't get Latex. I have found some warnings but I
don't understand them.
I don't use any special/unusual characters in the Xrefs, just normal names.

Cross-references problem

2011-12-06 Thread Sølvi
I have LyX v.2.0.1 and Windows XP.

I have a hughe document with a lot of references and cross-references
(master document with included child docs). I'm experience problems with,
especially, the cross-references when I'm pdf-ing the document - some of
them just turn up as "??" in the document. I have checked them several
times, deleted and then put them back in. I have also tried to change them
all togheter without success.

Anyone knows what causes this problem and how to fix it?

Say what? And how do I do this? Use a text editor for what file? And what is a
relative path? i only use the include commande in LyX so I wouldn't know what
this is? I really need an explanation for dummies :)

I really don't understand what you mean by this? I just use the include
command in Lyx and I have probably several dozens of documents and figures
(all from d: drive)incorporated so to "just drop" the drive letter in front
of those statements (wherever they are and I can find them and do this
operation) is a way too hughe job and not worth it.

Hi,

I'm currently using Windows XP with LyX v.2.0.0

I have a huge document, it's a master with several child documents included
which then again have documents/figures etc inserted (it's like a christmas
tree). I have been working on the d: drive on a pc but now I have to work on
a pc that only have a c: drive and I probably have to move it all back to
the pc with the d: drive later.

Is there any easy way to do this or do I have to "rebuild" the entire
document? It's a big document with lots of files incorporated.

Re: Undefined control sequence

2011-05-17 Thread Sølvi
Hi

I have solved the problem and as someone suggested it was something with the
installation. I simply uninstalled and then reinstalled LyX 1.6.9 and now I
can compile the document without any problems (haven't checked the document
in detail, but it look OK). Strange how the set-up can change just by
turning on and off the computer. Someone also suggested to install the
latest version (2.0), but that gives me, if possible, even more errors so
I'll just stick to the 1.6.9 vs for now.

And while I'm at it (sorry for asking another question in the same mail),
can anyone explain why some of my cross references and references just turn
out as question marks in the compiled pdf document?

And thanks everyone for the help.

Undefined control sequence

2011-05-16 Thread Sølvi
 Hi.

Hope someone can help me with this beacuse I'm getting desperate.

I use LYX version 1.6.9 on a XP-platform

I have a Masterdocument with several included files, I worked on this
document only a few weeks ago with no problems, but now I can't view it in
PDF anymore. When I press the "view PDF"-button i get a long list which says
"Undefined control sequence" and the following error message:

*\ltx@newglobalif *

* \ifGPT@pagecolor*

*The control sequence at the end of the top line*

*of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have*

*misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct*

*spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,*

*and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.*

I've also tried to PDF just the smaller, included douments seperatly but get
the same error. I've looked everywhere for a solution and can't figure out
what's wrong, considering the document was fine a few weeks ago. Hope anyone
can help me with this, and please keep in mind that I'm a novise to LYX and
need simple explanations :)
