double subscripts

2002-09-28 Thread S.K. Tomar

Hello all,

How can I get double sub(sup)script, like the one in
attached file. One solution I tried (crude though) by taking
2x1 matrix in subscript but that takes much space.

Any better solution???

Thanks in advance.

Type \{ for a left, \} for a right curly brace.
Typing { gives you a nested block.

Thanks very much.

Just one query, will this feature be same in subsequent
releases.

 I am not sure.

On the 'pro' side: It behaves exactly as LaTeX does, whence it is
 easy to implement.

On the 'contra' side: It is somewhat annoying and people who don't
know LaTeX certainly do not appreciate it.

Then it should behave in a similar fashion for \(, \), \[,
\] but we don't require \ before any of these, in fact if
we do add, it gives error.

But I have successfully used the lowercase letters in

doesn't work now, no matter whether I use AMS-Math or not.

Those got converted automagically to uppercase when input.

No, certainly not. I had a different output from r then
what I get with R.

 Oh... but both calligraphic?

 Do you have a screenshot?

Yes, both caligraphic.

Just now I did the following:

Open the .ps file in xv, selected the portion and saved in
.gif format. r is with superscript N and R is alone.
The lower one I took from my thesis and the upper one I took
from my present work. For my thesis I have taken upper ones
as A,B,C,D,E,F,P,Q,V,W but the lower one was only r.

Please find attached both the .gif files, which you can view

 No you didn't.
Just try writting $\mathcal{a}$ in TeX mode and see what happens.

Please refer to my another posting, where I have given two
different outputs, one with r and one with R. What I
have written is that, the lower one I could produce in

Hi,

Surprisingly, I am not able to use minibuffer at all in

Further, can anyone help me on how to define
(1) a math macro, and (2) keybindings

possibly in my personal directory.

Thanks in advance
