Re: Changes to updated subfiles not being included in main dvi.

The only workaround i've found is to close lyx and reload it (to remove all /tmp/lyx*** directories and temporary files) to take modifications into account. Except this way, i've noever figured out how to accomplish this correctly. I used this for convenience (for getting nice separation of chapters with a leap before any text. If i only used the chapter, of course, everything would have been clearer since chapter renumbering is automatic but i'd liked the part + chapter distinction for any file for visual effect only and for this reason i need to overcome the problem by either : 1 - hacking on per-file the figure numbering 2 - hacking lot and lof to takie the part into account on the numbering (but i'd like not to do so on each separated lyx file). More precisions ? BTW, thanks for the remark Stéphane -- http://www.steletch.org Fingerprint: 1E83 26EE A2F1 87E5 5865 4DBF F2B4 9083 F44C AE88 GPG key @ http://www.steletch.org/article.php3?id_article=13 Mandrakelinux release LE2005 (Official) @ http://www.mandriva.com
Problem for chapter numbering in toc a multi-file document. (Second pass in case it would have not been accepted)
Hello, I'm finishing my *shiny* PhD thesis and i encounter one little problem for numbering in toc. >From one master document (main.lyx), i'm sourcing chapters with the 'include'command and in this master document i also add toc, lof, lot. The main problem is since i'm using the Book class, each include renumbers the chapters at 1. To overcome this, on each separated file, i have set up manually the chapter number (\setcounter{chapter}{0}). The chapter number is of class 'Part'. The hierachy of each included file is : Part TitlePart Chapter TitleChapter Paragraph TitleParagraph The renumbering process works for the toc : III TitlePart 1 TitleChapter 1.1 TitleParagraph 2 TitleChapter 2.1 TitleParagraph 3 TitleChapter 3.1 TitleParagraph On each chapter, the figure is numbered fig.., for instance fig 3.1, fig 3.3. The problems arises for the lof (or same for lot) : while on each included file, the numbering 3.1, 3.3 is not problematic, on the lof, i'm finding many figures named 3.1, for instance figure 3.1 from included file 3 (Part 3) and figure 3.1 from file 4 (Part 4) --> two different figures with the same name (title, legend and page number are different though). Is there a way to tell lot and lof to include Part number in the figure table (and only in the table, not in the included files) ? Thanks a lot for your attention, hoping you could help me in this litle optimization.
