Multibib possible in Lyx?
I am writing my CV and would like to do the following: 1. add bibliography under different sections: Books, Peer reviewed papers published, Submitted, Conference presentations. 2. I have in my bibtex file the necessary entries with keyword as 'BOOKS', 'Peer reviewed publications' etc. 3. I would like all entries with key word BOOKS under section BOOKS printed in chronological order with most recent first. and all entries with keyword printed in chronological order with most recent first under section and so on. I know some people have done this using biblatex or multibib in latex. I wonder if anyone has done it in Lyx and if so be willing to share how this was done.

Simulate update dvi behaviour in update pdflatex
Hi I am using lyx 1.6.4 with Miktex and adobe acrobat. When we View - update - dvi after the latex runs the dvi window goes to the page I was viewing last with the updated view, whereas with update pdflatex the updated file just opens at the first page of the pdf document. I am working with a document that now is over 300 pages and manually going to the page being edited to see change in output for pdflatex is very time consuming. Is there a way to open the pdf output at the same place as the last time it was displayed? I hope I was able to explain my query. Regards Vivek
Anyone used Lytex?
Hi I do not have administrative privileges at work computers but am so dependent on using lyx for my writing and want to be able to use it on a USB drive or a network drive that I have access to. I wondered if anyone has used Lytex as suggested in the wiki? I tried it and get error messages. The home page for Lytex does not give any email addresses for requesting help. Regards Vivek

Clicking the button for insert tex works fine. Tx Vivek

Error during generation of dvi -solved
Solved -thanks to hint by Paul Rubin If the preamble reads \usepackage[numbered,dortcompress]{natbib} \usepackage[options...]{hyperref} \usepackage[hypernat] It resolves the conflict between hyprref and natbib with the sortcompress option and both dvi and pdflatex compile and the pagebackref option of hyperref also works appropriately I hope this is of use to someone Vivek

Error during generation of dvi file
I am trying to generate a dvi file and get a error when two or more citations are together stating: Argument of [EMAIL PROTECTED] has an extra} Paragraph ended before [EMAIL PROTECTED] was complete Missing control sequence inserted... The error does not occur when generating pdflatex. I have tried disabling \usepackage{babel} It does not help Does anyone know what this is due to and how to correct it? I can attach the offending lyx file and the bib file. I use Lyxwin1.4.1 on win xp with miktex, the version available from the official web ftp site, not the one provided by uwe. thanks vivek

configuring lyx 1.3.3 win32
I tried to follow the recommendations on the list re configuring ruurd's lyx 1.3.3 native win32 port. In particular 1. the installation in c:\proggies. 2. changing the path to include the lyx.exe is in the path 3. installing and replacing the sed application in lyx\bin by the latest GNU sed 4.0.7 4.configure does not work and the following is the output in the log file. Further if I try to use lyx it works OK except when using the memoir classes when lyx.exe crashes, the same behaviour is noted in the cygwin port 1.3.1 I use Win XP professional Any help from the experts is appreciated. kind regards Vivek C:/proggies/lyx/share/lyx/configure \proggies\lyx\share\lyx\..\..\bin;C:\proggies\lyx\bin\;c:\program files\imagemag ick-5.5.6-q16;C:\Perl\bin\;C:\texmf\miktex\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C: \WINDOWS\system32\WBEM;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel;C:\Pr ogram Files\Common Files\Adaptec Shared\System;C:\cygwin;c:\localtexmf;C:\cygwin \bin;C:\Program Files\j2sdk_nb\j2sdk1.4.2\bin Usage: C:\proggies\lyx\bin\sed.exe [OPTION]... {script-only-if-no-other-script} [input-file]... -n, --quiet, --silent suppress automatic printing of pattern space -e script, --expression=script add the script to the commands to be executed -f script-file, --file=script-file add the contents of script-file to the commands to be executed -i[suffix], --in-place[=suffix] edit files in place (makes backup if extension supplied) -l N, --line-length=N specify the desired line-wrap length for the `l' command -r, --regexp-extended use extended regular expressions in the script. -s, --separate consider files as separate rather than as a single continuous long stream. -u, --unbuffered load minimal amounts of data from the input files and flush the output buffers more often --help display this help and exit -V, --version output version information and exit If no -e, --expression, -f, or --file option is given, then the first non-option argument is taken as the sed script to interpret. Strange behaviour when using book(memoir) layout
I have tried using the memoir book layout with lyx 1.3.3, in the win32 version and lyx1.3.1 in cygwin and when starting a new lyx document with layout option article(memoir) or Book(memoir) the lyx window closes with a message asking to send a report to Microsoft in the former and with no message in the latter leaving the xfree86- cygwin window open. Any help appreciated. There were some issues regarding sed with Ruurd's port so I installed GNUWin sed No difference. thanks vivek
