The Document Classes listed are layouts that have been created for the various latex classes for representation of the classes styles in the LyX Gui. I started off trying to make a layout, then realised that since I only needed this for a very simple questionnaire that covered one page of A4, I decided just to use raw LaTeX, instead of wasting my time messing about with LyX. Thanks for the pointer anyway! Y.

Misplaced noalign error?
Hullo all, I'm trying to insert a page break in a document, as a section heading keeps getting orphaned on the previous page, which I don't want. However, LyX keeps complaining about a Misplaced \noalign for the page break. Thoughts? If there's another way to keep the section heading with the following CV list items, that'd work too... I'm using the moderncv class, and the source code in question is... --- \cvlanguage{Miscellaneous}{}{Ipsum dolor} \newpage{} \section{Platforms and networks} \cvlistitem{Mac OS X} --- TIA! Y.

After lots of trail error, I've found a workround for the problem. Basically, there are some ERT {}{} that were marked as Optional in the template - turns out they weren't optional! So I put in a few ERT {}{}{} where needed, LyX then rendered the document fine. Rather irksome, now, I've got lots of ERTs, all over the place but hey, it works fine now and I have a CV! :P As for the list items, they don't look too bad in the overall context, so I think it's how it's meant to look... Thanks anyway! Y.

moderncv class usage?
Hullo, A bit of a newbie to this (Used LyX in the distant past, trying to relearn the ropes!). It's a bit irksome, as I'd have thought LyX was supposed to make this a bit easier - i.e. write the document, applying the appropriate markup voila, it 'renders' without errors! Instead, I keep getting errors all the time *sighs* TIA for any assistance you folks are able to provide! Y.
