  Hello,

  I did try this as well:
  ./configure --with-lyxname lyx-1.1.6pre3
  but after a lot of lines I get the error message:

  checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ ) works... no
  configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler

  configure: error: ./configure failed for sigc++

  So please, what can I do against this? The c++ compiler is installed.

 Is c++ a symlink to g++?

yes

 Do you have libstdc++ installed?

I found:
/usr/lib/
libstdc++.so.2.7.2
libstdc++.so.2.8
libstdc++.so.2.9
libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.a
libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so
libstdc++-libc6.1-2.a.3 (link)
libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3(link)
libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/egcs-2.91.66/
libstdc++.a (link)
libstdc++.so(link)
/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/
libstdc++.so
libstdc++.so.27 (link)
libstdc++.so.27.2.1 (link)

 How about libstdc++-devel? (the header files)

Is this file one of the above?

 I'm not sure what names SuSE use for their versions of these packages
 (their naming convention is stuffed). Probably something like libstdc.rpm
 and libstdcd.rpm.

Re: Chapter and Headings?

2000-12-06 Thread astrid

 How can i add the
  chapter number to the reference chapter?

 write in latex preamble
 for komascript book-class (you should prefer this class!)

 \renewcommand\bib@heading{\chapter{\bibname}}

Hi, I would like to have the same for report(koma-script). Do I have to
write the same in the preample? Actually, this didn't work.

lyx-1.1.5fix2 update for SuSe7.0

2000-10-23 Thread astrid

Dear lyx users,

I am running SuSe7.0 and was working wiht lyx1.1.4p3-26. From the
lyx-user-group I got the hint, that there is a rpm package of
lyx-1.1.5fix2 at
http://hippokrates.jura.uni-mannheim.de/lyx for SuSe7.0. So I did
download this file and installed it with yast1. Yast gave me the
following warning messages.

---
  Postinstall lyx-1...
Configuring LyX for your system...
/tmp/YaST.tdir/stp924_162_S: cd: /share/lyx: No such file or
directory
/tmp/YaST.tdir/stp924_162_S: ./configure: No such file or directory
  POSTIN lyx-1 returns 127
  ... Mit Warnung
---

Did I forget something? Until now, LyX is working, but you never know. I
would like to know if I should be worried about these messages or not.

Thanks a lot,

Astrid
