Now I have tested LyX on Mac OSX 10.6 more thoroughly and the crashes seem to
appear only when Lyx does some autosaving of the current document
(Automatisches Speichern des aktuellen Dokuments… is written in the bottom
bar of the Lyx window – Should be sth. like autosaving current document… in
the English version). It immediately crashes afterwards. So far I haven't
recognized crashes elsewhere. It's always the 2-minute-autosaving-crash.
I also deactivated autosaving in the preferences but this strangely does not
really deactivate it, as after a couple of minutes the bottom bar message
reoccurs and so do the crashes. I have restarted LyX after changing the
preferences.

RE: RE: Will Lyx run on Mac OS X 10.6?

2009-09-06 Thread knauslists

So, now some interim report about me trying to compile lyx
on 10.6.

To sum up, I think I messed things up with QT.

First, I didn't find QT 4.3.3 on the QT/Nokia page, the
links to the archives there aim to quite empty ftp-servers
with QT3-versions on it.

So I downloaded the actual QT4.5.2 for Mac binary installer
and installed it. That was not a good thing to do.

Later I found the QT4.3.3 source-package by googling
around. I haven't installed this yet.

I tried to compile the lyx 1.6branch which I got via svn
(nice thing: 10.6 has svn already included now) following
the instructions of the INSTALLMACOSX file.

Well, configuring always fails as it cannot find the
qt-directory.

I looked up where the 4.5.2 binary installs files:

Qt Designer, Qt Linguist: /Developer/Applications/Qt

Qt Documentation: /Developer/Documentation/Qt

Qt Examples: /Developer/Examples/Qt

Qt Plugins: /Developer/Applications/Qt/Plugins

Qt Frameworks: /Library/Frameworks

Qt Libraries: /usr/lib

qmake, moc, uic, etc.: /Developer/Tools/Qt (symlink to
/usr/bin, so they are really there)

Uninstall script: /Developer/Tools/uninstall-qt.py

I tried it with /usr/bin and /Developer/Tools/QT as
Qt-path-option of the configure command: Same result qt
directory not found.

So I thought about going one step back by removing 4.5.2
first and then compile 4.3.3, but:

The uninstall.py script runs fine and exits without error,
but it didn't remove anything.

As this does not work, I think I have to figure out every
single file that the binary installer placed onto my
harddrive. How nice that it installs to /usr/lib and
/usr/bin by default! *grml*

I stopped here and didn't do anything, before making all
that mess bigger

Change the grey tone of greyed out notes' ouput

2008-10-25 Thread knauslists
Hello,

I have a large document with some greyed out notes in it. I have already
printed it out on a black and white laserprinter but the grey tone in which the
greyed out notes appear on the paper is simply to light and very hard to read.
Is there a simple possibility to change this?

Cheers.

Strange Bibtex behavior

2008-10-12 Thread knauslists
Hello,

I ran into a strange problem with bibtex while editing my thesis in Lyx. Maybe
it is not really a problem with lyx but I'm no latex/bibtex expert by far and
so maybe users of this list can give me a hint.

My problem is:

I use author-year citations with my own nat-bib based bibtex style (created
with custombib).
I have two citations from the same author, in the same journal issue and from
the same year. These are made unique by automatically adding an a or b at the
end of the year, e.g.

Knaus (2008) Introduction. Journal. Issue 1. p. 1-12
Knaus (2008) Another new hypothesis. Journal. Issue 1. p. 20-30

should be coverted to

Knaus (2008a) Introduction. Journal. Issue 1. p. 1-12
Knaus (2008b) Another new hypothesis. Journal. Issue 1. p. 20-30

but gets converted to

Knaus (2008b) Introduction. Journal. Issue 1. p. 1-12
Knaus (2008a) Another new hypothesis. Journal. Issue 1. p. 20-30

Probably there is something in the bst file which sorts the addition of a's and
b's according to the alphabetical order of the title which is generally o.k.
but if it's in the same journal issue it should be sorted numerically according
to the pages.
How do I get this? (I have looked into the bst file, but it is so long ago that
I created it...)
Do I have to change something in the .bst file or do I have to add some special
bibtex trick to the preamble of my Lyx file?

I have attached my bst file.

Thanks to Paul and J?n for their quick replies.

The solution I was looking for was exactly what J?n suggested.
I have created the .inc-file and it works fine, thank you.

I have only some additional questions:
1.) In the Lyx view of the document the numbering for the newly aux?

2.) The document I'm writing on uses KOMA-Script Book. I have changed the
position of the table captions with the option tablecaptionabove in Document
SettingsDocument ClassOptions. How can I get this positioning also for the
newly created float-type?

Best wishes,
Johannes

P.S. I think adding this to the linguistics module in 1.6 would be great.

In the other case, create a file myfloats.inc that is included in your

   Placement tbp
   Extension loo
