 Because they serve the same purpose, except that Notes are not output
 in the LaTeX code and comments are (as \begin{comment}...\end{comment})

Additionally, it is now possible to comment out parts without changing their
environment (e.g. chapter, quote etc.), which is a big improvement over the
environment version.

 Do you have a reason to dislike it, or are you just annopyed that it
 is different?

Personally, I still need to get used to it as well. I think one ui improvement
would be to show the contents in the label when collapsed, or even to have an
inline version. Maybe I'll look into that when I find the time.

appear inside LyX.

2000-01-18 Thread Yann . Morere

Hello,

i found a funny thing in my lyx 1.1.3, on alpha with
flore:/users/laih2/ymorere/lyx/faq_latex latex
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (C version 6.1)
**

when i use comment environment it puts in the tex file :

%% Textclass specific LaTeX commands.
 \newenvironment{lyxcode}
   {\begin{list}{}{
 \setlength{\rightmargin}{\leftmargin}
 \raggedright
 \setlength{\itemsep}{0pt}
 \setlength{\parsep}{0pt}
 \verbatim@font}%
\item[]}
   {\end{list}}
   \usepackage{verbatim}

and without the use of it i've got :

 \raggedright

 \setlength{\parsep}{0pt}
 \verbatim@font}%
\item[]}
   {\end{list}}

%% User specified LaTeX commands.

in the first case i've got a lot of problem with line like this :

\begin{lyxcode}
pstops~\char`\"{}2:0L@.7(21cm,0)+1L@.7(21cm,14.85cm)\char`\"{}~un.ps~deux.ps
\end{lyxcode}

latex does not recognize ~\char`\"{}

in the second case all work fine. no problem.

so perhaps my distribution of latex is too old but, my question is :

is it a bug or a feature

I must say that i tried to compiled the first case on a miktex

   I am attempting to use the "comment paragraph environment" in LyX
 v1.0.3. I cannot find a menu pulldown for this feature. More importantly
 the M-p S-C key-sequence only gives a "Layout comment not known" error in
 the minibuffer. My documentclass is "Article (Revtex)". Does anybody know
 what problem/fix is?
Maybe this doesnt help you, but with "book" it works fine.

It seems that the definition for Comment is not included in the revtex
class, nor in revtex4. I guess it has just been forgotten.
