It seems that qtconfig is broken (at least on my system). The
environment variable QT_IM_MODULE (which I was unaware of) was still
 set to xim.
 Added:
 export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
to ~/.profile, and everything was fine again.

I run Lyx 2.0.0 and just upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10. The compose
key has stopped working in Lyx (at least I'm quite sure it worked before).
The compose key issue has been posted several times, but I haven't found
 anything that worked.

 I've followed the instructions on

SOLVED!

The compose key issue has been posted several times, but I haven't found

I've followed the instructions on

The relevant output from running lyx -dbg 4 is:
../../../../src/frontends/qt4/GuiWorkArea.cpp(1042): count: 1 text:
isAutoRepe
at: 0 key: 16781600 keyState:
../../../../src/frontends/qt4/GuiKeySymbol.cpp(621): Getting key 16781600,

../../../../src/frontends/qt4/GuiKeySymbol.cpp(627): Setting key to
16781600,
../../../../src/frontends/qt4/GuiKeySymbol.cpp(642): isOK is 0
I use Caps Lock as compose key.

Any ideas what to try next?

I used it in the past in LyX in order to build Sanskrit diacritics in the book

The term is quite old and quite known in X Window System world.
However every Pole using polish programmer keyboard in Windows (like
me) have right alt in function of Compose Key - well known as AltGr.

There was a time when Microsoft did not support that in Polish version
of the system, then many programmers created overlay software to
support that in ancient Windows versions :-)
