Have you already had a look at sec. 4.3 Margin Notes of the EmbeddedObjects manual that you find in LyX's Help menu? I guess what you want is described there. regards Uwe Looking again at Sec 4.3 of the EmbeddedObjects Manual, I see how to do the left-hand margin. However, I still cannot

Sorry thanks I have found it. I am using \setlength{\marginparwidth}{length}, which seems to be working! Now I just need to find out how to work these custom insets! Regards, Jasper
