If they are normal system fonts, they should work without problems (beside
readability and aesthetics) in both, LyX's GUI and documents typeset using
non-TeX fonts (i.e. the XeTeX or LuaTeX engines).

What does MS know of typography.

It took them something like 25 years (until Windows Vista?) to
understand that *screen* fonts must be designed specifically for
readability *on screen*.
