Because that is indeed the title. I agree it is not very handy.
Therefore I changed it in JabRef into title Multi-script, multilingual,
multi-character issues for the online environment: and subtitle
proceedings of a workshop sponsored by the IFLA Section on Cataloguing,
Istanbul, Turkey, August 24, 1995. See attachment.

Have a look at the attached pdf and lyx files. I assume you have the
.bib file :). Don't forget to change the path as I am in Linux. I
did that once and spent 20 minutes wondering what I'd done.

I must have some minor setting not quite right but I've changed so
many in the last 2 days I probably am lost.

Hi Bernd,

Did you hear that knocking sound? It was me pounding my head against the
wall.

"authortitle" !!! I was tired enough last night (≈ 23:00 or so) and the
word "title" did not register. I must have read it four times and I think I
even typed it once.

I always use American Psychology Association (APA) format it wants (author,
date) and I somehow interpreted title as date. Arrgh. My excuse, and I'm
sticking to it, is that I don't believe I have ever seen an authortitle
used.

I changed it to authoryear and it worked! It does not seem to be giving me
full APA6 yet but that should come.

Thanks for all the help.

APA6 would be

\usepackage[style=apa,natbib=true,backend=biber]{biblatex}

\DeclareLanguageMapping{canadian}{canadian-apa}

I guess.

Also:

I suppose your path is OK for you.

The log file shows that biber is indeed run (however, it is anyway
adviced that you set biber in Document Settings Bibliography, since
with standard, LyX uses whatever is set in Tools Preferences Output

Anyway, the problematic line is this:

  Please delete the folder

 C:\Users\Bernd\AppData\Local\Temp\par-4265726e64\

This is a known (and obviously hard to fix) problem of biber. Some times
(though very unfrequently) it tries to access such invalid cache folders.
Deleting them always solves the problem. See

Bernd,
if not even Jürgen's formulas and recommendations bring along the needed
effects while time is what matters, then you seriously ought to consider
using bibtex. Hope you can do that until Jürgen and the developers
resolved the problem.

Cheers,
Michael

Hallo Michael,

I have the same problem with Biblatex and use bibtex for now, however I
cannot hand in my dissertation with it as it does not show literature with "ø"
or Hebrew signs or any other special sign and does not show newspaper
entries properly for me...
what do you advice?

Re: Aw: Re: No bibliography with LyX/biblatex/JabRef

2015-04-24 Thread John Kane
Hi Bernd,

I think the cause of my error was I had said \print bibliography instead of
\printbibliography. I was trying a clean new file and did it from memory.
Unfortunately I had made several changes and did not realise the stupid
spelling mistake.

I am now compiling but no bibliography. I tried with natbib=true and
without it with no luck

I also have tried with Document > Settings > Bibliography set to 1) default
and then 2) set to natbib(author, date) with no success and I've tried
setting the bibliographic style to apacite and plain. ARRrrggh!

Thanks for the help

PS: found it!

Re: No bibliography with LyX/biblatex/JabRef

2015-04-24 Thread John Kane
It almost works. It compiles and I get a Reference list (Article) or
Bibliography (Koma-book) but the citation has the entire reference printing
in the text. Weird.

Have a look at the attached pdf and lyx files. I assume you have the .bib
file :). Don't forget to change the path as I am in Linux. I did that
once and spent 20 minutes wondering what I'd done.

I must have some minor setting not quite right but I've changed so many in
the last 2 days I probably am lost.

Thanks for all the help,
John

I suppose your path is OK for you.

The log file shows that biber is indeed run (however, it is anyway
adviced that you set biber in Document Settings Bibliography,
since with standard, LyX uses whatever is set in Tools Preferences

Anyway, the problematic line is this:

Please delete the folder

Export from lyx to latex, run latex YourFile.tex three times on a

What kind or error do you get?
Export from lyx to latex, run latex YourFile.tex three times on a
terminal, run bibtex YourFile once,

and have a look at the errors.
