yes, I am sure, because I have installed 2016, 2017 and 2018 and now just kept
2017 and 18. Thanks for the terminal commands, which showed, that the newer one
was used.

Having both installed does not guarantee the newer one is used, though
it usually is.
On terminal run
ls -las /Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/
whih should result in something like
[...] Contents -> ../TeXLive-2018-Basic.texdist/Contents

I hope somebody could answer a question related to MacTex / texlive. Could I
delete the version of 2016 just by deleting /2016 in the teelive-folder? I use
2018 now.
