Doesn't this depend on the font that is used and isn't a vector font used by default in most cases? Scott

The question is a little bit strange. As someone pointed out already the resolution of the final product doesn't depend on screen resolution. Is it easy to produce PDFs with math formulas as vector graphics with LyX? Stephan

Thanks for the comments, Stephan. A lot of people will be happy because of your improvements. I was curious to know the current state of affairs because of this question: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/271091/wysiwyg-latex-editor-that-can-export-high-resolution-images Best, Scott
Re: Does LyX work with MBP Retina screen?
Scott, LyX works fine with MBP Retina displays. However, it doesn't look very good on those screens (it looks slightly pixelated). It is a matter of appearance, not functionality. Do we have confirmation from anyone who has tested 2.2.0 that the pixelation is gone and that everything works as expected on MBP Retina displays? Scott

Scott, I've sent some users a download link for testing and got some positive feedback. Although it's a little bit too general question to be answered: "everything works as expected on MBP Retina?" I can say: yes, the pixelation is gone. It's much better and one never wants to go back to 2.1.x. There aren't any stability issues, AFAIK. I cannot tell the performance difference for sure. I'll have to test this explicitly. One issue I'm aware is the scaling of icon insets on change of zoom. But this shouldn't be an issue with HiDPI vs. normal displays. Stephan
Does LyX work with MBP Retina screen?
I have read that LyX 2.1.4 does work, but with some tweaks. Do we have confirmation that LyX 2.2.0dev works better? I often get this question. Scott
