Yes, thanks, that helped.
However, now (?) the headers (with a double-sided layout) are only set in capital letters.
And that contradicts the KOMA-Script manual:
"While the standard classes always set automatic running headlines in capital letters - that is, capital letters - KOMA-Script uses the spelling that was found in the headline."

Try option "singlepar" of idxlayout, i.e.,
\usepackage[indentunit=10pt, singlepar]{idxlayout}
Please refer to the idxlayout manual for further options.

Yes, sorry, it should have been
\usepackage[indentunit=10pt, itemlayout=singlepar]{idxlayout}
But this does not produce the result you want. Try instead:
\usepackage[indentunit=10pt,
hangindent=10pt,
subsubindent=0pt]{idxlayout}
