RE: Individual counters for Problems, Examples, etc.?
Thanks, Daniel The "clue" was to know that it is under Modules... I tried to search the User's Guide, etc., but didn't find the needed help there. -B -Original Message- From: lyx-users On Behalf Of Daniel CLEMENT via lyx-users Sent: Monday, October 3, 2022 3:05 PM To: lyx-users@lists.lyx.org Subject: Re: Individual counters for Problems, Examples, etc.? Thanks for quick response, Udi This works perfectly! -B -Original Message- From: Udicoudco Sent: Monday, October 3, 2022 2:56 PM To: Bernt Lie Cc: lyx-users@lists.lyx.org Subject: Re: Individual counters for Problems, Examples, etc.? Go to Documents->Settings-Modules and see which module you are using. What you are looking for is a module that defines the theorems to be numbered by type, so for example you can select the Theorems (Numbered By Type) module. If you also want the theorems to be conutered within another counter (say section), then there are also modules for that too. To get more information about modules, you can read section 3.1.2.3 LyX's User's Guide, which can be found in Help->User's Guide. There are also a few examples for the usage of modules in different sections. Individual counters for Problems, Examples, etc.?
In LyX 2.3.6.1 under Windows 11, I have a document of Document Class “Article (Standard Class with Extra Fontsizes)”. Currently, all “theorem-like” elements use the same counter, e.g., Examples, Problems, etc., use the same counter. I want to use separate counters for the various elements. * How do I do that in LyX? [In LaTeX, I put a “newtheorem” command in the Preamble I think. But in LyX, these elements already exist… so I assume that I mess things up if I create a new “Problem”, etc. Thanks for help. -B -- lyx-users mailing list lyx-users@lists.lyx.org http://lists.lyx.org/mailman/listinfo/lyx-users
